MASAO MARUYAMA - PRODUCER Born in Miyagi Prefecture, 1941. After graduating from college, in 1965 he joined the prestigious Mushi Productions. In 1972, he participated in the establishment of the new animation studio MADHOUSE, and in 1980 became one of the board directors. Regardless of TV, OVA or theatrical movie, all of MADHOUSE’s projects he has lent a hand in producing. Ranging anywhere from children’s animation to the popularly representative style of Japanimation, the quality of work is always consistent, and is internationally praised for the high standards. MADHOUSE is known for introducing young directors with great new talent into the world. Maruyama is a typical leading producer in the world of Japanese animation. back
